Change your life with IVF:
IVF has brought about a sea of change in the life of the people around the world over the last 30 years or so since its invention. As a matter of fact, couples (who did not have a child before) finally could enjoy the warmth of parenthood. Infertility isn’t a bane. It’s actually an outcome of cumulative factors that can affect both the partners of a couple. Having said that, we mean, infertility is neither associated with women nor men alone. Therefore, IVF can successfully be used to treat infertility in the following cases.
- Individuals with genetic disorder
- Male infertility including sperm motility and the decreased sperm
- Women with removed fallopian tubes
- Women having blocked or damaged fallopian tubes
- Unexplained infertility
- Women with premature ovarian failure, ovulation disorders, and uterine fibroids
What is IVF?
IVF stand for in vitro fertilisation. In simple words, IVF is a manual process of fertilising an egg with a sperm on a laboratory dish in a controlled environment and then, transferring the embryo in the uterus. However, a surgeon may prefer to transfer more than one embryos to the uterus on a case to case basis. In short, IVF can be defined as an assisted reproductive technology (ART). However, there are two more types of ART that are widely practised by surgeons based on specific conditions and the treatment required for the purpose such as zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT) and gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT).
Side effects of IVF:
Side effects of IVF will vary from a patient to patient. However, some of the common side effects are constipation, mild bloating, mild cramping, a small amount of fluid release after the process, breast tenderness, headaches, mood swings, and abdominal pain. However, you must call a doctor in the case you experience pelvic pain, high fever (100.50F or above), heavy vaginal bleeding, and blood in the urine.
Millions of people around the world have benefited using IVF. The number keeps increasing with each day. The success rate of IVF decreases with age especially on attaining 35 or above. In all other cases, the success rate of IVF is estimated at 50% per cycle.
Taking IVF treatment to your advantage at Gunasheela
We at Gunasheela have been delving into our patients’ comfort and care for years. The comfort and cosiness come at a great price! Having said that, we mean, we are relentlessly delivering path-breaking systems and processes in the case of IVF (in vitro fertilisation) treatment bespoke to our patients’ need. In other words, we never follow a uniform practice for the IVF treatment of our patients. As a matter of fact, we have a high success rate even in the case of patients who couldn’t conceive through IVF treatment at other clinics or hospitals before.
Why IVF failure:
If an embryo transfer was done, then the embryo was possibly not implanted properly. Having said that, we mean, the reason for an IVF failure could be an embryo implantation failure. However, it is not known whether the IVF failure was actually owing to the implantation failure, embryo problem, or a uterus problem. According to a study, most of the fertility specialists believe that 95% of IVF failures can be attributed to the embryo arrest that can be caused either by the genetic abnormality of the embryo or its chromosomal abnormality that makes the embryo weak for its normal growth after an implantation.
However, to know the exact reason behind an IVF failure, a patient would need to undergo a pre-implantation genetic screening – PGS. It is essentially a test to check the normalcy of the chromosome. You may be surprised to know that almost 50% of the human embryos meant for IVF treatment bear abnormal chromosomes and such abnormality potentially increases with the female age. You should know here that each human being has a pair of 23 chromosomes and thus, 46 chromosomes in total. This chromosomal abnormality is primarily responsible for 70% of the miscarriages during the early pregnancy.
What we do:
- We give custom solution and care to our patients that set us apart from other clinics and hospitals.
- Our in-house stringent quality check and professional acumen work in the best interest of our patients. As a matter of fact, your chances of conceiving and delivering a baby with us remain very high.

The Department Of Biochemistry
Metabolism is the sum total of all chemical reactions that take place inside a living body with
a view to maintaining life. Therefore, the scope of biochemistry in human life is of paramount
importance especially from the viewpoint of the medical science and technology. You should
know here that biochemical processes in the human body, for instance, is the reason behind
the complexity of life. Since the 20th century, the biochemical research has led to many
discoveries that precisely explain the living process.
Biochemistry is a laboratory based science. Having said that, we mean, the research on
biochemistry is conducted at the laboratory and it brings chemistry and biology together
in the best interest of the plants and animals. As a matter of fact, biochemists can solve many
mysteries of our everyday living. For instance, biochemists primarily focus on the happenings
at the lowest level such as the molecules inside our cells. Simultaneously, they study the
components of organelles (cell organs such as the nucleus), proteins, and lipids. Besides, they
are also to study the process of communication between the cells during an illness or during
the growth period. Such a study helps biochemists find the root of a problem.
Therefore, the periphery of a biochemist’s work is palpably huge that covers important
disciplines such as the genetics, forensics, medicine, microbiology, and the plant science.
Over the last century, the pace of growth here has been phenomenal. As a matter of fact,
the role of a biochemist in clinical facilities such as the hospitals has been highly demanding.
Today, a biochemist works in a group consisting healthcare professionals, policy makers,
physicists, engineers, chemists, and others related to it. He/she has to provide a direction to
understand the working of life and the connection between the disease and health of a person.
Things to know about the biochemistry department at Gunasheela:

Managing Your High-Risk Pregnancy
There are essentially two types of pregnancies such as normal pregnancy and high-risk pregnancy. A high-risk pregnancy is a special case involving the threats on the life of the unborn baby and his/her mother. In other words, a high-risk pregnancy is a cause of concern both for the baby and the mother. You must, therefore, take every precaution with a view to safeguarding the life of the mother and the foetus. It will potentially reduce the threats on the life of the foetus. However, there are instances where both the mother and the foetus died due to the high-risk pregnancy.
In short, a high-risk pregnancy is a case where the foetus and the mother are subjected to complications during the gestation period and those continue till the delivery of the baby. You should, therefore, consult a good gynaecologist here and ensure a 100% compliance with the doctor’s advice. It will potentially reduce the threats on the mother as well as the foetus.
Causes of a high-risk pregnancy:
- Mother’s age: The age of the mother at the time of conceiving would tell you whether the pregnancy is likely to be a high-risk one or not. Having said that, we mean, if an expecting mother is underage or overage, then chances of a high-risk pregnancy remain bright. Pregnancy after 35 and a teen age pregnancy are likely to be turned out as a high-risk pregnancy. That’s why a family planning in advance is important.
- Mother’s health: Pre-existing health condition of a would be mother is equally responsible for a high-risk pregnancy. For instance, if a woman is suffering from high blood pressure, HIV, or high blood sugar, pregnancy in her case would by default be a highly risky.
- Overweight or obesity: Overweight or obese women will find a difficulty to conceive at the first place. Simultaneously, their pregnancy is likely to be highly risky. According to an NICHD (National Institute of Child Health and Human Development) research, the mother’s obesity causes 15% of the children’s heart problem at birth.
- Mother’s health during the pregnancy: Mother’s health during the pregnancy is also a cause of concern here. For instance, some expecting mothers fall victim to high blood sugar during the pregnancy.
- Multiple births: A high-risk pregnancy can also occur when a mother carries more than one foetus at a time.

The Department Of General Medicine
It is often referred as the Internal Medicine in some hospitals in India. Interestingly, Internal Medicine owes its origin to the ancient India and the ancient China. According to a study, Internal Medicine was in practice since the time of Charaka, one of the fathers of Ayurveda. However, the term Internal Medicine has evolved from the German term ‘Innere Medizin’ that was very popular in Germany during the 19th century to mention physicians who contributed to R&D (research and development) of the medical science in addition to the regular clinical care of the patients.
The department of General Medicine is not just any department at Gunasheela Hospital. It actually stands out by virtue of its sheer quality service and the state-of-the-art infrastructure here in Bangalore. You too would fall in line taking a look at the number of patients that we treat and care everyday here. However, it is not the OPD (Outdoor Patient Department) that you may presume at the first place. Having said that, we mean, the department of General Medicine is composed of three independent units such as Indoor, OPD, and Intensive Care.

Radiology & Ultrasonography To Your Advantage At Gunasheela
You may be surprised to know that even before you were born on earth, you became a subject of radiology and ultrasonography. Does this sound confusing? Well, during the pregnancy of a mother, a gynaecologist conducts several ultrasonography tests based on the months of progress and such a test uses sound waves to produce images on the screen. These tests let the gynaecologist know the exact growth and status of the foetus in the mother’s womb.
On the flip side, radiology is a speciality medical imaging department that uses state-of-the-art imaging techniques such as MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), ultrasound, positron emission tomography, and X-ray to name a few here with a view to diagnosing and treating diseases seen within the body.
You know what there is a wide confusion among the masses whether radiologists are indeed doctors. Some opine that maybe they are just like the technicians who render everyday imaging services like the X-ray. In reality, radiologists are doctors who treat patients after diagnosing the actual disease through the imaging services mentioned above. You should know here that as per the law, every imaging test must be conducted under the prescription and supervision of a qualified doctor. Having said that, we mean, unless a doctor is present during an imaging test, the test must not be conducted at the medical facilities including the hospitals.
All those put together indicates the importance of radiology and the ultrasonography at every medical facility in India. You will be happy to know that we have a good number of radiologist and ultrasonography machines for the purpose of everyday investigations and of course, ahead of treating patients suffering from internal problems. However, it is the duty of a radiographer to acquire the medical images. A radiographer essentially works under a qualified radiologist and we at Gunasheela have state-of-the-art such setups with a view to meeting critical care and treatment to our patients.
What is medical ultrasound?
Medical ultrasound is popularly known as ultrasonography. However, it is often referred as the diagnostic sonography in medical terminology. An ultrasonography is an imaging technique that uses ultrasound for the purpose of image taking. An ultrasound means a high frequency sound in essence that is beyond the hearing ability of the human being. Ultrasound devices produce sound frequencies anywhere close to 20kHz or more leading up to several gigahertz. The application of ultrasound is manifold in the medical industry. For instance, an ultrasonic device is used for detecting objects inside one’s body and to measure the distances.
You will be happy to know that we regularly invest in the latest technology of this field. We have recently brought two units of 3D scans consisting 3D probe, vaginal probe, and antenatal probe. We have a team of 3 doctors and 5 scanning technicians who work round the clock here. We have successfully brought down the average scan report time to just 2-5 minutes and we are capable of 100-130 scans per day.
