PGT-A is recommended for individuals with a history of recurrent pregnancy loss, those with known chromosomal disorders, women of advanced maternal age, couples with repeated IVF failures, and those wishing to increase the chances of a successful IVF cycle.
After IVF, embryos are cultured to the blastocyst stage (day 5 or 6). A few cells are then carefully removed from each blastocyst and analyzed for chromosomal abnormalities. Only embryos without these abnormalities are considered for transfer.
