Choosing an IVF Centre in Bangalore

Choosing where to have IVF is an important decision. Advertising and online rankings rarely tell you what matters most. A simple checklist can help you compare centres and ask the right questions.

Is the centre registered?

In India, clinics offering IVF and other assisted reproductive technology must be registered under the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021. Ask to see the registration.

Who are the doctors?

  • What are the doctors’ qualifications and training in reproductive medicine?
  • Who will see you at each visit, and who will carry out egg collection and embryo transfer?
  • Are the doctors registered with the medical council?

What is the laboratory like?

The embryology laboratory affects the quality of care. Ask:

Will you get clear information?

  • Does the doctor explain your realistic chances based on your age and tests, rather than general success figures?
  • Are you given a written, itemised cost estimate, including medicines and freezing? See IVF cost in Bangalore
  • Are risks such as ovarian hyperstimulation and twins discussed?
  • Are consent forms explained clearly?

Which treatments are available?

A centre that offers a full range of tests and treatments, including male fertility care, genetic testing and fertility preservation, can manage more situations under one roof. See fertility treatments available in Bangalore.

Is support available?

Fertility treatment is emotionally demanding. Ask whether counselling is available and how the centre supports you between visits and after a negative result.

Practical considerations

  • How easy is it to reach the centre for frequent monitoring visits?
  • What are the timings, and is there an out-of-hours contact?
  • Does the hospital provide pregnancy care after successful treatment?
